Tecside Group: Networking Event

On Thursday 6 February 2020, Tecside Group Technical & Professional held its first event of the year for its Perth based corporate clients.

Held at the Royal Hotel Perth, Tecside Group invited guest Speakers Joe Williams (The Enemy Within – Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Wellness) and Gail Milne (WISE Professional Network) to provide some insights into Social Inclusion from a Cultural and Diversity perspective for its Corporate Clients.

It was very gratifying to see such a strong turnout for the event, and the engagement with the key themes and messages of the event. We look forward to partnering with our Clients to further ensure a strong future for equitable employment opportunities.

About our Speakers:

Joe Williams: The Enemy Within

Apart from being involved with professional sport for over 15 years, Joe spends his time working to inspire youth and corporates on mental health, adversity and cultural awareness.

Joe was awarded the Wagga Wagga Citizen of the Year in 2015 for his committed work within the community mental health and suicide prevention sectors and was named a finalist in the National Indigenous Human Rights Awards.

In 2018 Joe was awarded Suicide Prevention Australia’s highest honour, a LiFE Award for his excellence in communities within the suicide prevention sector and in 2019 was named a dual winner of the Australian Mental Health Prize.

Now a published author, Joe’s autobiography ‘Defying The Enemy Within’ shares not only his life’s story but offer’s practical tools anyone can implement into their lives to improve and maintain their emotional wellbeing. Joe also contributed to the book ‘Transformation; Turning Tragedy into Triumph’ and features in the global documentary ‘Suicide: The Ripple Effect’.

Gail Milne: WISE Professional Network

Gail is the Chair of Wise Professional Network and currently works in Project Management, Transformational Leadership and developing teams and people. Gail is passionate about getting more women into STEM based leadership roles in the subsea and marine environment industries. It has been recognised that there are not enough women in these roles and even if they get there, they aren’t staying. Gail wants to find a solution to this for our future generations.
