Parts Interpreter

The Parts Interpreter is responsible for the provision of efficient and accurate parts advice, dispatch and administrative services to the Division and its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification of the correct spare parts to ensure the customer receives the goods in full and on time
  • Provide backup support for parts operations in VIC/TAS, WA/SA/NT, QLD, and New Zealand
  • Provide spare part product information to customers
  • Work in conjunction with customers and other departments to maximise sales opportunities
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of parts processes including stock control and inventory
  • Provide professional and timely customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • Order stock from suppliers, including the factory in Germany
  • Process and invoicing of internal and external customer sales orders
  • Run and check transactional reports to ensure exceptions are identified
  • Participate in the preparation and conduct of regular stock take activities
  • Liaise with service and sales personnel
  • Comply with occupational health and safety requirements in the workplace
  • Provision of timely and effective administrative services such as but not limited to: developing required reports and correspondence and maintenance of accurate records and files
  • Provide on-the-job training as required
  • Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures
  • Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of the company’s products and services
  • Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes
  • Other duties as directed

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a fast-moving spare parts department
  • Customer service skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Literacy and numeracy
  • Determining and addressing customer needs
  • Operate lifting and working at heights equipment
  • Sales skills including up-selling techniques
  • Report writing – technical
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Self-development (i.e. Technical and Behavioural competencies)
